Bernstein meets Beethoven - Beethoven 250

Music is a living art and this program offers a wonderful demonstration of this. Completely in line with what we have become accustomed to from Daniel Hope over the years, we are given the opportunity to hear several masterpieces in rare and even previously unpublished versions for violin and string orchestra, such as this suite from West Side Story arranged at his request by Paul Bateman, the Cavatina from Beethoven's Quartet No. 13 transcribed for strings, or the sublime Adagietto from Mahler's Fifth in a more intimate score for chamber orchestra.
