The cycle route leads from Les Diablerets over the Col du Pillion, through the Saanenland to Jaun. After the first ascent, you cross the cantonal border into the Bernese Oberland and ride rapidly downhill towards Saanenland, with idyllic villages such as Gsteig and Saanen. The Saanenland impresses with its landscape, traditional wooden houses and green alpine meadows.
The strenuous ascent through the narrow Grischbach valley leads to Mittelberg with views of the striking cliffs of the “Gastlosen”. After Abländschen, the route follows the Jaunbach, which accompanies you to the German-speaking village of Jaun. The mysterious waterfall and historic churches are well worth a visit here.
