A hike to a mountain lake always has its charm. The water shines in a different color in every season and weather condition. Lake Iffig is a real gem among the mountain lakes and is beautifully nestled between the steep rock face on one side and the open arena of mountain meadows on the other. The lake is also located in the Gelten-Iffigen nature reserve. This hike, which is not very technically demanding, first leads slightly uphill into the Iffig valley and then climbs up to Lake Iffig from Alp Groppi. You may see or hear marmots along the way. A tip for fishermen: you can fish in Lake Iffig with a day permit. The day pass is available at the Berghaus Iffigenalp. The way back is the same as the way up. At Iffigenalp, the mountain restaurant invites you to stop for a bite to eat.
